Extended deadline
Dear all,
I think you may be pleased to hear that I have extended the deadline for the mediawork to 28/04/10 Wednesday! That being said, let me inform you what you need to pass up for the mediawork.
1) Your mediafile (check that it works!) on a thumdrive which is clear of other work/pictures
2) A typed copy of your script ( Make sure this looks nice and professional)
3) A pretty copy of the experiment/recipe your mediawork was based on
These 3 abovementioned items should be put into a a4 size envelope which is marked with all your group members names, register numbers and of course your class! You'd probably want to hand it up a day earlier because your exams begin on 28/04. You can put it into my pigeonhole or to be safer, you could call me out of the staffroom as I will stay in there until 3.30pm on that particular Tuesday :))
However, the deadline for the hardcopy newspaper remains and all classes are to pass it up this week during their lessons. 1E5 had their lesson today and I'm pleased to say that I got all the newpapers on time! Well done 1E5! Thats the way.
I was also pleased to see that 1E5 was already well on their way for the 3D settings for some groups. I need to remind you that the setting should be 3D so please make an effort there.
Also, here are some example of 3D settings done by students of 1E5.
I thought this one was particularly pretty! This is Sean Oui's group's work.
This one of house that is still in progress.
I liked the colours on this but the think that it could be further enhanced with some other objects to make it more 3D.
Lastly, a few pictures to demonstrate the frantic rush that took place in 1E5 today :D
On a parting note, I will be in school on 26/04/10 with my digicam for any groups that are in need of urgent help. But please do see me this week if you need my help that Monday.

Instructions and things you need to know
The basics
1)Each group needs to submit 1 media file not more than 3 minutes long, which involves a voiceover. Your script for this should be based on a transformation recipe/experiment/how to article, which you will submit in your newspaper as well.
2)Both the video and the how to article will be assessed as a group and will receive a group grade. Thus, no one can claim the transformation how to article/recipe/lab experiment as their own individual work.
3) Examples of transfomations?
A recipe to transform a witch into a rock
A lap experiment that changes a girl mose back into a human child
a how to article on how to transform children into lizards to use in potions and stews
These are just some examples, mind you. Feel free to be as creative as possible!
Commonly asked question: Need we read out our recipe and all ingredienst in the media clip?
Her royal highness answers: No, you can just show the transformation part with some dialogue, if that is what you fancy for your video. Most importantly, you need to show some form of transformation in your mediaclip.
How? The steps?
1) Rehearse your pre-approved script several times, until you are word perfect!
2) Ensure that your puppets and 3D settings are in order.
3) Have a digicam on hand
4) record one take and check for the clarity of voice, sound and expressiveness etc.
5) try a few takes and choos the best one (make sure the person who records has steady hands and that you have a nice quiet location to work in)
Ok I will update soon. Please remember to bring all the necessary items and completed work to class, unless you wish me to smote you

Our Media vvvorrk
Dear students of her highness Miss 'the GHW' Kaur, here are your instruction for your mediawork project. Due to my mind boggling array of classes, each class might have a different instruction so please listen up carefully.
1A1 and 1E6
We are yet to have a mediawork session yet, as you have missed your lesson due to cross country. Thus, for the next lesson, I will need you to be prepared having done/ brought the following things
1) Do read the instructions in the next post as well as refer to Miss Jumiah's blog http://themouseburglar.blogspot.com where she has shown physical examples of how to make a puppet and back ground etc
2) I would need each group to bring a cardboard box (it doesnt have to be huge and things such as scissors, glue, satay sticks, ice cream sticks, coloured paper etc) Each group would be making a 3D setting and puppets.
1E4 and 1E5
1) We've already had a lesson talking about this media work. Thus, each group is to bring me the script (this means what you are going to say in you in your video) and the transformation recipe/experiment/ article that your video will be based on. (Also refer to the next post and http://themouseburglar.blogspot.com)
2) Please bring all the materials to do your puppets and your 3D background, the next period would be dedicated to this and you can have the time do up your puppets etc. You are advised to bring sufficient material so all group members can work at once.
